Here at the Kentucky Equine Adoption Center, we meet horses from all walks of life. Many of them are shown to you on this website. You can browse through the horses we currently have, however, we receive new horses regularly.

Once approved, your application is good for any horse for one year.

Please send in everything we ask for in the first paragraph on the first page.  You can send it in directly from the website, but if you want to do everything electronically, email your pictures and proof of residency separately to If you do not have a computer, just call us and we will be happy to mail an application to you.

Once you send it all in, processing only takes a few days, depending on how quickly your references call back. Thanks for your interest and let us know if you have further questions.

Adopting is as easy as 1 - 2:

Step 1: Fill out the application by either Clicking Here to download and print, scan, and email it or snail mail it, or filling out and submitting the document online Here  (Just be sure to enter your name and email address when asked for authentication)

Step 2: Once approved, set up appointment to pick out your new equine partner!

**Before coming out to the center to look/try horses, your application has to be approved. We will contact you as soon as this is done or if we need more information.  If we do not have a horse that matches your interest at this time, your application is good for one year for any horse and anytime during that year you can check back to see what we have that might fit your needs. This way you will be ready to go when you do find your new equine partner!
